The “Refilon” Project was initially conceived by the need of communicating through music, using a language based on Cape Verdean rhythms and culture. It’s a new challenge in trying to enhance and expand traditional music and fusion rhythms with a whole new set of experiences, emotions and influences.
The band is betting in Afro musical influences, Jazz rhythms and Blues ambiance.
In the line of these musical references, they have gathered two acoustic guitars, alternating from three to five vocals, bass, drums, violin and percussion, playing a original repertoire, but mostly seeking to further enrich Cape verdean music with their own creation style.
The band aims, so to speak, to benefit from their own personal experiences, their songs and melodious rhythms being the natural vehicule for their native “Crioulo” the language of Cabo Verde.
Many have been quoting them, as a new revelation in the modern Cape Verde music.
